Commercial Real Estate Intern - Capital City Bank - More Than Your Bank, Your Banker.

  • Hours: Mon - Fri
  • 20 Hours

General Summary

The Real Estate Intern position has primary responsibility to assist the Real Estate Manager with workload and support functions primary centering on research of real estate. This will include researching public records, sales searches, and permitting. Intern must be willing to learn appraisal methodology and applications as well as work with Construction Loan Administration.

A Day in the Life of a Real Estate Lending Intern

The Real Estate Lending Intern is responsible for oversight and coordination of the following:

  • Individual will rotate in multiple areas of real estate to acquire knowledge and insight on functions of the departments.
  • Extensive reading.
  • Provide high quality service by assisting with all aspects of Appraisal, Environmental and Construction.
  • Some cross training with Central Underwriting will also be implemented.
  • Any assignments given should be completed in a timely manner with follow-up at the end of each day noting progress and items which may need additional instruction.

All associates must understand and adhere to the non-negotiable Banker Standards and commit to practicing SGNNT (smile, greet, name, name, thank you) at all times. Associates will consistently follow policies and procedures as established by Capital City Bank and Capital City Home Loans, with department managers setting the standard.

Completion of the Summer Internship

In addition to department responsibilities and duties, as an intern group, there will be a

Final project to be presented to the Internship Program Board. Intern Volunteer Work Day.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) to be successful in this role

The following KSAs are usually acquired through work experience and/or specialized course(s):

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Understanding of all types of real estate, including assignments prepared for financing decisions.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Windows-based computer applications including Word and Excel.
  • Able to function independently with minimal supervision in a high production environment.

Education

It is recommended that candidate possess or are in the process of pursuing the following education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business/finance or real estate is preferred from a four year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience that gives an understanding of work procedures, job standards, and the job knowledge that may be required.
